use a scale at home to weigh your luggage to avoid getting any surprises at the airport. Also pack multi purpose clothes that can be more than once during the trip.

Multi-function clothes i.e pants that unzip at the legs and convert to shorts.

Instead of packing full size shampoo’s, conditioner’s,etc. I pack samples, it saves on space and weight.

My best advice for light packing is to pack. then the next day go through everything again and take half out. I also like to colour coordinate my wardrobe when travelling, so if you go with black and white, everything matches and you can mix it up easily.

Best lightweight packing tip would have to be to understand your desitantion and type of trip you are taking – if you know where you are going (ie rainforest) you aren’t going to bring certain items ( no need for an evening gown and heels in the rainforest). Also Take into consideration if you will be doing a bit of shopping as you may want to leave out things that you know you will be able to find on your trip!
