Finding stylish footwear with comfy walking cred is no walk in the park.
Often, something’s gotta give and you either find yourself trotting around in a fabulous pair of shoes with feet so sore you’d almost be prepared to amputate them after a few painful hours or (and I am not sure which is worse) you’re stuck in some frumpy flat duds that’ll walk the extra mile comfily enough but break every fashion code in existence along the way.
I am wet, slightly chilled and wearing a rather dorky hoody, but rockin' cool sandals at the Cape of Good Hope — the most southwestern point in South Africa.
While it’s rare, sometimes a shoe comes along flaunting exceptional style and comfort. Meet the NAOT Cymbal sandal.
I am pumped about these shoes. Not only did they accompany me on a mixed terrain road trip across South Africa, they survived day-long outings at bustling markets, long discovery walks and hours upon hours of wear without delivering a splinter of discomfort, tired feet or a single blister.
My trusty footwear companion, the Cymbal shoe from NAOT ($170).
For several weeks, these were my go-to shoes for all moderate activities while traveling, which means with the exception of hardcore hiking, the Cymbals were my steady footwear companion, molding perfectly to my feet. Talk about the ultimate test walk.
Handmade, incredibly cushioned and highly functional, the designers also understand the power of blending ergonomically designed materials with style.
Truly, the NAOT brand has got fashionable globe-trotting pedestrians covered. Yep, they’ve got your back … err, feet, I mean.
