Meet our chic savvy contributors…
|
There’s a lot of exciting stuff going on at Chic Savvy Travels — not the least of which is our new Token Guy blog with travel writer Mike Barish. We’re lucky to have a roster of fantastic contributors, and we have a few new faces I’d like to introduce, including our Chic Savvy Mamma, a style guru and a world traveler whose adventures are sure to inspire.
I’m not a parent, but I’m constantly amazed by women who travel with their kids – including a woman I met hiking the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal (a 21-day trek up and over the Himalayas) with a baby strapped to her back. No kidding.
Traveling with kids presents unique challenges I can’t even begin to comprehend. So meet Samantha Kemp-Jackson, our Chic Savvy Mamma, who will be writing for Chic Savvy Travels all year long about family travel.
Sam knows this topic well — she has four kids, three under the age of eight, including identical twin toddlers. She also works full-time and blogs about her experiences of being a frazzled mom at Multiple Mayhem Mamma. Read more about her tips for travel with kids and family-friendly long-weekend getaways — and stay tuned for much more!
Also, meet style guru Melanie Dulos, who writes about fashion, beauty, health and lifestyle trends on her blog, styleanderror. Recently I was flipping through some old photo albums and noticed I was wearing the same grey quick-dry pants and same blue quick-dry t-shirt in an awful lot of photos — so I clearly have something to learn about style on the road… I’m hoping to learn a few style tips from Melanie; in the meantime, check out her article for Chic Savvy Travels on how to pack (in style!) for a long-weekend getaway.
And meet Joya Thomas, who blogs about her travel experiences on The Joyage. Though I’ve never met Joya in person, her adventures remind me so much of my own — like me, she bought a one-way ticket to New Zealand and explored Southeast Asia without any sort of plan, just a desire for discovery and adventure. She is truly one cool chick, and she reminds me why Tanya and I started this website in the first place. I hope her adventures (and trials and tribulations) will inspire you, as they have me.
Stay tuned for more from Joya in the coming weeks, and in the meantime check out her article on traveling the backroads of Cambodia, where she’s trying to navigate her way to Sihanoukville but isn’t sure if that’s where she’s actually heading.
To me, that sums up the joy of travel: We don’t always know where we’re going (and sometimes we get lost or re-routed or detained by customs officers for hours on end), but we always end up where we need to be.
