Happy anniversary, Chic Savvy Travels!
|
It was one year ago today that Chic Savvy Travels went live, though the idea was in the works for much longer. Before Tanya and I met, we both wanted to start our own travel website, but it wasn’t until that fateful day at a press event when we started talking travel that the concept of Chic Savvy Travels came to life.
After about six months of planning and a lot of hard work, we launched the site. A year later, I’m amazed at how far we’ve come — and I’m incredibly grateful to all of the people who’ve helped us get here.
We’ve been lucky to have so many contributors come on board, including our Chic Savvy Mama Samantha Kemp-Jackson, who will be a regular contributor to the site with advice for traveling with kids. Also, thanks to Paul Teolis for his services as our official photographer, and to Kim Dolan for her amazing illustrations used in our logo and all of our sections.
A special thanks goes out to our writers and guest bloggers: Amy Davis, Charmaine Khan, Dana Dougherty Reinke, Genevive Savundranayagam, Gesine Schneider, Jen Hill, Joya Thomas, Judith Jenkinson, Kristen Marano, Leslie McNab, Maria Tzavaras, Melanie Dulos, Rachel Naud, Rosalyn Solomon, Sarah Lysecki, Stefania Lamacchia, Sue Batson Feuer, Susan Bernstein, Tamara Dinelle and Tamara Kaftalovich. And let’s not forget the guys: Mike Barish, Paul Teolis and Shane Schick.
Also, a big thanks to the sponsors who’ve come on board with some incredible contests, including Dove, Rough Guides, NAOT, Teva, Vaseline, Old Navy, Kodak and the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association.
Most of all, I’d like to thank our readers and fans (with a shout-out to Loretta Henderson, who nominated Chic Savvy Travels for a best travel site of 2011 award!). Over the next year, we hope to continue growing the site and providing informative, interesting, inspiring content for all those chic savvy travelers out there.
Thanks for tuning in, and here’s to another year of wanderlust and adventure!
